About Me
Cooking Food Every Day

After I began working from home, I realized that I had the special opportunity to be able to cook at home every day. While most people were working until later in the afternoon, I had time to go to the grocery store, get what I needed, and make a lovely dinner for my family to enjoy. In addition to helping my kids to enjoy better health, I was also able to hone my cooking skills, which was really fun. Now I can honestly say that I love cooking and preparing food, and I wanted to make a blog that centered around my new passion. Check out this website for great tips on cooking and enjoying foods each and every day.

Outdoor Catering Events: What You Should Know

Antonio Alexander

Outdoor events are exquisite during the fall season. With the changing foliage as a backdrop, the only thing you need is great food. Some may be overwhelmed at the thought of catering an outdoor event. However, professional caterers will know exactly how to pull off your outdoor event without a hitch. Here are some things you want to know about outdoor catering events:

Outdoor Catering Options

You can choose almost any type of food for an outdoor event. Some options are more conducive to an outdoor event, from both logistical and convenience standpoints. One popular option is grilled food catering. Grilling does not have to only consist of a backyard barbecue, though there is nothing wrong at all with that option! If you are looking for something more sophisticated, you can also grill different types of seafood and shellfish. Add in some delicious sides, such as pasta, salad, and bread, and you have a lovely outdoor event.

If you do not want to grill, you can also do a deli option. Deli options are typically a cold catering option, meaning nothing is cooked or heated onsite. You can offer a buffet of different deli meats, marinated vegetables, nice breads, and condiments. Do not forget the sour pickles!

These are only two options available for outdoor catering events. If you have something specific in mind or if you want to think outside the box, discuss your ideas with your caterer. Chances are he or she has been waiting to experiment with new menu ideas and will serve something amazing for your event.

What You Can Expect

When you book an outdoor catering event, you should know what to expect. When you are planning the event, discuss with the caterer who will be responsible for the serving plates, glasses, and silverware. You should also ask if the caterer will provide the chafing dishes or if you need to rent those from an outside company.

Another consideration is your tables and seating. Think about how you want the room to flow and how guests will best get to and from the food. If you are having an event with wait staff, you also need to ensure they have a place to prep plates and food.

Discuss all of this with your caterer, as he or she may have all of the dishes and equipment available to you for your event. They will know what is needed if a prep area for wait staff is needed. Be sure to have a long list of questions at your initial meeting with the caterer so you will know how the event will go.
